Muri is such a funny dog! He makes a big mess and gets into trouble, but he always makes everyone laugh. I liked how the story showed that even naughty pets can be loved so much. It was fun, silly, and a little sad at the end — I loved it!

This book is such a delightful surprise. I started reading it expecting just a funny, energetic dog story, but it turned out to be so much more. The author really captures the spirit of what it’s like to have a mischievous pet in the house. Muri is loud, stubborn, and constantly in trouble, but you fall in love with him despite it all. The verses flow so well that it feels like a song when you read it out loud. My children and their friends especially loved the farmyard scenes where Muri, AKa Bad Dog, goes chasing after animals; those pages had them laughing out loud. But what makes this book special is the way it handles loss. The ending is tender and real, reminding us that even when pets leave us, the love and memories stay forever in our hearts. It’s rare to find a children’s story that is both funny and deeply moving. This one does it perfectly.

Through Muri’s wild adventures and endless mischief, Patricia Karengesha beautifully captures the ups and downs of welcoming a spirited pet into the family. I couldn’t help but laugh at Muri’s antics, chewing slippers, stealing cake, and running from baths, but what truly moved me was the warmth and love that shines through every page.
By the end, when Muri’s boundless energy fades, I found myself both smiling and teary-eyed.
